Yi traditional building construction techniques---Yi through-double mortise and tenon structure building is a kind of building form formed on the basis of “parallel dry”, absorbing the building culture of lifting beams and through-double, etc., which can be called the model of Yi architecture with exquisite craftsmanship and rich national styles. The building is made up of a dao structure with a “herringbone” sloping tile roof, earth or brick walls, and two indoor floors, with three, nine or eleven layers of square walls on the upper floors, and the lower floors decorated with columns and wall inlays according to the different functions of the main, guest, and activity areas. The building does not use modern tools, and no construction drawings, not to mention the use of nails or adhesives, all rely on the existing “drawings” and experience in the minds of craftsmen to build in the form of handmade, complex procedures, high technology requirements.
